- Colour fading / colour change
- Gloss loss
- Yellowing
- Cracking
- Chalking
- Surface deterioration
- Embrittlement
- Loss of physical properties
- Weathering resistance
- Lightfastness
- UV/sunlight resistance
Testing Standards
The 4B Xenon Weathering Test Chamber can be configured for applicable requirements based on:
- ASTM G155 – Xenon Arc Light Apparatus for Exposure of Materials
- ASTM G151 – Exposure of Non-Metallic Materials Using Laboratory Light Sources
- ISO 4892-2 – Plastics — Methods of Exposure to Laboratory Light Sources — Xenon-Arc Lamps
- ISO 16474-2 – Plastics — Methods of Exposure to Laboratory Light Sources — Xenon-Arc Lamps
- ISO 105-B02 – Textiles – Colour Fastness to Artificial Light
- SAE J2527 – Accelerated Exposure of Automotive Exterior Materials
- Other material-specific ASTM, ISO, DIN, JIS and customer test methods
ASTM G155 specifically covers xenon-arc light and water exposure apparatus, while ISO 4892-2 addresses xenon-arc lamp exposure of plastics.
