Polariscope Strain Viewer Digital
Polariscope Strain Viewer – Digital he 4B Digital Polariscope Strain Viewer is a laboratory and quality-control instrument designed for qualitative inspection of internal stresses and residual strains in transparent and translucent products.
It is particularly useful for inspecting glass bottles, pharmaceutical glass containers, ampoules, vials, PET preforms, plastic bottles, acrylic components, transparent injection-moulded parts and other birefringent materials.
The sample is placed between polarized light components and viewed through the optical system. Stress patterns become visible as changes in colour, brightness and interference patterns. This helps manufacturers identify uneven annealing, moulding stresses, processing defects and excessive residual stress. Polariscopic examination is also recommended in connection with certain plastic test methods to identify specimens having abnormal internal strain.

4B Testing Equipments Pvt. Ltd.
4B Testing Equipments Pvt. Ltd. manufactures Digital Polariscope Strain Viewers / Polariscope Stress Viewers for the inspection and evaluation of internal stress, residual strain and birefringence in transparent and translucent materials such as glass, plastic, PET preforms, bottles and injection-moulded components.
The instrument works on the photoelastic/polarized-light principle. Internal stresses in transparent or translucent materials produce optical birefringence, which appears as characteristic colour or light/dark patterns when viewed through crossed polarizing filters. This allows operators to identify areas of excessive residual stress and evaluate manufacturing or annealing quality. ASTM D4093 specifically covers photoelastic measurements of birefringence and residual strains in transparent or translucent plastics.
